LJUBLJANA: The Dragon Bridge and Greek mythology

Dear sports fans,

Ljubljana is a wonderful and colorful city that carries a very long history.

One of them is the legend of the Dragon Bridge. It dates from the beginning of the 20th century and there are terrible stories behind its existence.

Locals say there is a legend. Jason together with the Argonauts of Greek mythology killed a dragon, which dominates the famous bridge of Ljubljana.

According to mythology, after reaching Colchis on the Black Sea and taking the Golden Fleece, Jason deviated from the return route via the Danube River. Locals honor Jason with festive events.

Also, another myth says that the four dragons will start wagging their tails very quickly when a virgin decides to cross the bridge.

In general, many nice stories have been written about the History of Dragon Bridge.

We would recommend that you cross the bridge both in the morning and in the evening when it is lit up.

Many young people have proposed to their future spouses on the Dragon Bridge and it is generally one of the most photographed spots in the Slovenian capital.

It is considered a typical example of Art Nouveau architecture that flourished in the 20th century.
