Dear sports fans,
Berlin is a multicultural city, which suffered in the past decades, was divided and lives harmoniously again after the Fall of the Wall on November 10, 1989.
There are many museums worth visiting, which vividly describe some of the dark times the city lived through.
We would recommend you to visit the German Spy Museum or Deutsches Spionagemuseum in German (Address: Leipziger Pl. 9, 10117 Berlin), which immerses you in the world of spy in every way.
From the first moment you enter the museum, you will realize that someone is watching you because many cameras will focus on you.
In a huge space that is 3,000m2 you will have the opportunity to travel back thousands of years to the way spies worked.
You will learn all about how the secret services were run by Napoleon and other historical figures. You will travel to World War II, where you will see how secret codes were deciphered.
You will see over 1,000 exhibits relating to the methods and items used by the secret services.
There are shoes that had tape recorders on their heels and eavesdropped on conversations. See the umbrellas that looked innocent and turned out to be weapons shooting poison arrows.
See gloves worn by women who hid tiny pistols to execute their enemy.
Listen to recorded spies’ messages that reveal many details of their activities.
There are hundreds of interactive activities that you can participate in a strange spy game. You will be asked to go through laser fields, decipher secret codes, etc.
It’s a unique opportunity to play, use the touch screens and learn the secrets of various espionage and counterespionage eras at the same time.
