*** BRANDENBURG GATE (Pariser Platz, 10117 Berlin)

Your first walk in the city should be combined with your visit to the most characteristic attraction. It was built in 1791 and was one of the old gates around Berlin. There is also the decorative Pariser Platz.

It opened its gates in 1699 and here you will have the opportunity to see exquisite collections of porcelain and paintings. Opposite are the museums of Charlottenburg.

*** POSTDAMER PLATZ

This is the square which was full of events. It was the busiest place before World War II. From World War II until the Fall of the Wall in 1989 it was a square – a ghost. Here you will now see many shops, skyscrapers and is the place where celebrities parade during film festivals.

*** BERLIN WALL MEMORIAL (Bernauer Str. 119, 13355 Berlin)

At this point it was once the border strip that separated East and West Germany. It is definitely worth your visit to the spot and your emotion will be diffuse. Do not forget to find the remains of the Berlin Wall at Niederkirchnerstraße 1, as well as the Museum of Wall History at Mühlenstraße 78-80.

One of the most famous sights of the city is the television tower that opened in 1969, has a height of 368 meters, an observation deck at 203 meters and a revolving restaurant at 207 meters. A few meters further is one of the most popular squares in Berlin, Alexanderplatz.

*** CHECKPOINT CHARLIE (Friedrichstraße 43-45, 10117 Berlin)

It is one of the leading symbols of the Cold War and the ultimate depiction of the separation of West and East. This checkpoint has been the checkpoint for three decades, not only for the divided Germany, but for the whole world of political unrest.

*** STASIMUSEUM (Normannenstraße 20/Haus 1, 10365 Berlin)

The former Stasi headquarters has been turned into a museum. On three floors you will find the sanctuaries of Stasi with the offices of the leaders, with photos of people of any suspicion who were spies, espionage devices, the offices of the spies and photos even of victims. The offices of Erich Mielke, the last GDR Minister for State Security, are preserved in their original condition.
