Bilbao is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and the pride of the Basque Country.
It is one of the cultural centers in the country, with many of its museums offering free admission on certain days.
For example, the Museum of Fine Arts is one of Bilbao’s most important attractions. There you will find over 8,000 works by leading painters and artists.
Every Wednesday, admission to the Museum of Fine Arts is free and it is worth visiting if you are in Bilbao on a Wednesday.
The Maritime Museum (Itsasmuseum Bilbao) is also another place worth visiting and enjoying up close.
It is located near the river where the Euskalduna shipyards used to be. In this museum you will have the opportunity to see the history of Bilbao’s shipping up close.
Please note that admission to the Maritime Museum is free every Tuesday from September to June.
