GRADSKI STADION DUBOCICA

It is one of the most modern stadiums in Serbia and has a capacity of 8,138 seats. *** NATIONAL MUSEUM LESKOVAC (Stojana Ljubica 2, Leskovac 16000)

Opened in 1948, it includes 33,000 objects of archaeology, ethnology, history, art history and conservation. The history of Leskovac is presented in the museum.

*** SPOMEN PARK (Svetoilijska, Leskovac)

Dating back to 1971, it is a memorial park dedicated to those who died during World War II.

*** PARK DEVET JUGOVICA (Devet Jugovica 6, Leskovac)

It is a park ideal for walking and relaxing. We highly recommend it, as it is one of the locals’ favorite places.

*** HISAR HILL

It is one of the most important points of the city. Enjoy the view from a hill that has been inhabited since prehistoric times.

*** SHOP DOKIC HOUSE (Masarikov Trg bb, Leskovac)

It was built in the 19th century and is a cultural monument for the city. The Šop-Đokić family had lived there for over a century.

*** CATHEDRAL OF THE HOLY TRINITY

Be sure to visit the church, which is one of the most important cultural monuments of the city. It dates back to 1931 and apart from the impressive exterior, you will be delighted by the interior decoration.

*** MONUMENT OF LIBERTY

The monument was erected in 1927 and concerns the heroes of Leskovac who fought in the period 1912-18. See the bronze warrior figure and the inscription reads “Falled for free – Grateful Leskovci”.

*** MUSEUM “26 JULY” (Slobodana Penezića, Leskovac)

Explore museum which has exhibits from the 18th and 19th centuries and is about the collection of household objects or tools from the rural household.

*** ETHNO HOUSE

It is one of the oldest houses in the city and one of the most beautiful. It was built in the second half of the 19th century and belonged to the prominent Dimitrijević family. Take a tour of the house which, among other things, includes an ethnological exhibition on the reconstruction of the interior of the houses from the end of the 19th century.

*** PALATA SOTIRA ILICA

It was built in 1911 and until 1998 was owned by the Ilic family. Now, it is a cultural monument and one of the most important buildings in the city.

*** It is worth taking a trip to Nis which is about 45 minutes away. There you will see, among other things, the Fortress of the city.

*** We would also recommend you to visit Caričin grad which is 30 minutes away by car.

*** Mountain Kukavica is about 15 minutes away from Leskovac and is one of the locals’ main choices for hiking.

*** Svetoilijska church is a church that deserves your attention.

FOOD AND DRINK

Serbian cuisine is amazing. It has influences from French, although some argue that French has influences from Serbian! The bottom line is that you will eat amazing dishes of traditional delicacies in every corner of the city. Traditional foods you can taste are cepavi, pljeskavica, karadordeva snicla, sarma, stuffed pork loin, leskovacki ustipci, muckalica, and sausages. We would recommend you to try the chorba soup as well. If you want a street food, then definitely try the traditional Gibanika. The traditional drink is rakija, but of course you can pair your food with wine and local beer.
