Those who travel to Cologne, we’re sure you’ll want to cross alongside the Rhine River and walk along its banks.
We understand that the Rhine is attractive to swim. We take it for granted that some of you would like to put on a bathing suit and take a dip in the river.
But we would advise you not to make this mistake. Strong currents can sweep you into deeper water.
You will see many signs informing you that there are actually many dangers to swimming. There are also places where swimming is expressly prohibited.
If of course you can’t control your urge to get your feet wet and you absolutely must get a taste of the river, then we’d recommend heading to the sandy beaches in Rodenkirchen.
These beaches are great for laying out a towel, sitting on the sand and enjoying the wonderful view.
