BUCHAREST: The Wealth of the Ceausescu Mansion

Bucharest is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe and one of the cities that has many hidden secrets and treasures.

Travelers prefer to move mainly through the streets of the Old Town. However, there are places that are worth visiting and discovering.

For example, the wealth that exists in the Ceausescu Mansion is worth mentioning.

This particular home was the private residence of Nicolae Ceausescu, his wife Elena Ceausescu and their children Nicu, Zoia and Valentin from 1965 to 1989. Ceausescu was the last communist leader of Romania who was executed on Christmas Day 1989.

The spaces inside the mansion are huge, both inside and outside.

See the handmade paneling on the walls, the crystal chandeliers, the paintings of famous Romanian painters, the spa, the impressive bedrooms, the golden faucets and golden taps in the bathrooms, the dazzling mosaics, the swimming pool, the mosaics, Ceausescu’s love of birds and especially the peacocks that have a prominent place in the mosaics and in the courtyard of the house.

Each room has a unique story. Ceausescu had welcomed the world’s leading leaders to his mansion, such as Fidel Castro of Cuba, Charles de Gaulle of France and Richard Nixon of the USA.

During the tour you can visit only 30 of the 80 rooms it has. In the couple’s bedroom, there are still the pajamas of the Ceausescu couple.
