It was opened in 1947 and over the years several renovations took place. It is considered the football “temple” of Montenegro, having interesting stories. In addition to football matches, it has hosted boxing and athletics matches, as well as many cultural events. Its capacity is 11,000 seats and whenever it fills the stadium the atmosphere created is fantastic. Around the stadium there are restaurants, a cultural center and a gym. It is located in an idyllic location in Podgorica.

*** STARA VAROS

The first thing to do when you arrive in the city is to walk through the winding alleys of the Old Town. Enjoy the Clock Tower built in 1667, the 18th century Osmanagic Mosque and the Ottoman architecture of the buildings.

The ruins of the ancient city of Doclea will take you back to the pre-Roman and Roman times of Podgorica. It’s worth visiting them.

The imposing cable-stayed bridge was opened in 2005. It is 173 meters long, over the Moraca River and is the new trademark of Podgorica.

It was built in 2013 and is the largest Orthodox church in the country. The elaborate mosaics, the special frescoes, the architecture and the stone that is the main “ingredient” of the architecture will delight you.

It was built in 1891 and was the winter palace of King Nikola I Petrovic. It is now a cultural heritage monument of the country and today it houses the Modern Arts Center of Montenegro with over 1000 works of art from different countries.

Visit the museum to see the evolution of Podgoris over the years through finds and exhibits related to the archaeological, ethnographic and cultural element.

It dates from the 10th century and is the oldest in the city. Built at the foot of Gorica and worth a visit.

Built in 1897, it is located under Dajbaba Hill and has a cross-shaped foundation. It is dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.

Try popeci podgoricki (deep-fried beef fillet in a roll with cheese and prosciutto filling), Brav u Mlijeku (Lamb in Milk), Kačamak with kajmak, Njeguski Steak, Black Risotto, Cevapi, Buzara, Burek, famous recipes with meat and spaghetti. Accompany your meal with beer or wine from the local Cremovsko vineyard. It also has many nightclubs, bars and clubs that are worth spending your time.
