STADIONUL ZIMBRU

It was opened in 2006 and is up to UEFA standards for international competitions. It has been used as the home of the Moldovan national football team and several of the country’s clubs in European competitions, because their own stadiums did not meet the specifications to host international matches. Its capacity is 10,400 seats and when the stadium fills up, a fantastic and pure football atmosphere is created. Around the stadium there is a hospital, hotel, cafes and gyms.

*** NATIVITY CATHEDRAL (Piața Marii Adunări Naționale 12, Chișinău)

It is the most important church in Moldova and dates back to 1830. It was damaged during World War II, but the damage was restored.

It is one of the most beautiful parks in the country with a lake, hiking trails and amusement parks.

It is one of the most important monuments of the country with the statue of the national hero of Moldova who ruled from 1457 to 1504 standing majestically.

*** NATIONAL BOTANICAL GARDEN “ALEXANDRU CIUBOTARU” (Strada Pădurii 18, Chișinău 2002)

It dates back to 1950 and is intended to be a green “miracle” where the aromas and the image of the plants and trees will enchant you.

The building that was built in 1939 is one of the most important attractions and it is worth seeing all the exhibits and the various ornaments, vases, paintings and more that are in the villa.

It is worth a walk to the zoo which opened in 1978 and you will find rare animals and birds.

 FOOD AND DRINK

Chisinau offers food that will delight you. Of course it has cuisines from all over the world (Mediterranean, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, European, Asian, American, Latin American), but we would recommend you to try the traditional dishes of the country. For example, order borscht soup, polenta with cheese and sour cream, sarmale which is stuffed cabbage rolls, stuffed bell peppers, kebaps, meatballs, fish fried which is fried fish, chicken noodle soup and moldovan pie. Try the traditional pastas, coltunasi reminiscent of ravioli and the delicacies of the meat dishes. The city and Moldova in general is famous for its wine production. So, don’t hesitate to accompany your food with the local wine.
