Opened in 1961 by the parish priest of Triesenberg, the exhibits are about the history of Triesenberg and the local church.

The exhibits concern unique treasures directly related to Liechtenstein, such as gifts from kings, objects – gifts from emperors, hunting knives, historical weapons, decorative golden eggs, jewelry, etc.

*** RED HOUSE (Fürst-Franz-Josef-Strasse 102, 9490 Vaduz)

It was built in 1339 and over the decades it was expanded. It is one of the most important attractions of the city. Since 1807 the building has been owned by the Rheinberger family. Egon Rheinberger was a famous painter, sculptor and architect.

The electricity museum displays exhibits from 1910 to the present day. See the history of the iron, the electric stove, the washing machine, the radiator and many more.

Vaduz’s cuisine will charm you. It is high quality, hearty and based mainly on meat. The broths are also worth trying. Be sure to try Käsknöpfle (pasta stuffed with cheese and topped with fried onions) which is the country’s traditional dish. Of course we would recommend ordering fish stew, ribel, Geschnetzelte, schwartenmagen, schnitzel, hafalaab, torkarebl and wurst. Try traditional pasta recipes and Dreikönigskuchen which is considered the ‘king cake’. It also has great sweets and desserts, such as muesli, pfannkuchen, plum and coconut sweets. The traditional drink is Glühmost. Try traditional wines and beers.
