FOOD AND DRINK
The cuisine of Reykjavik and by extension Iceland is unique and at the same time magical! Yes, it has restaurants with cuisines from all over the world, but we would recommend you to eat their traditional dishes. Several of them have yogurt as an ingredient or accompaniment. Try Hakarl (Fermented Shark), Svið (Sheep head), Puffin, Whale Minke, Pylsa (hot dog), Flatkaka med hangikjoti (sliced smoked lamb), horse meat, langoustine, cod, haddock, Hardfiskur (fish with butter!) , lamb meat soup (kjotsupa) and the awesome cheeses. Also try the Kleinur which is a twisted doughnut. For dessert, definitely get ice cream, while for drink drink Brennivin, which is a traditional Viking drink. It goes without saying that you can accompany your food with beer.
