*** DIOCLETIAN’S PALACE (Dioklecijanova 1, 21000, Split)
More is a fortress and the archival walls include a very large part of the Old Town. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was built for Diocletian’s retirement in the late 3rd to early 4th century. It is one of the most imposing Roman buildings. See the Jupiterov Hram located to the right of the Palace in the central square of the imperial complex and the iconic Golden Gate among others.
