ST. GALLEN: Rare library with books over a thousand years old!

Dear sports fans,

St. Gallen is a paradise on earth with awesome architecture, with beauties that will seduce you and with wonderful natural landscapes culminating in Lake Constance.

But it also has a rich culture. The Abbey of Saint Gall is a cultural monument. The Abbey grounds were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. It dates back to the 8th century AD!

For book and history lovers a visit to the Abbey Library is a must.

In the baroque cathedral there is a library that will delight you with its rich collection of books, either handwritten or typewritten.

The impressive thing about the library is that it has books that are over a thousand years old and many university professors even make transatlantic trips to be in the Abbey Library.

Rare books are a huge heritage for the city, with the Municipality taking care of them and preserving them, so that they do not lose their magic and do not deteriorate.

For more information visit the Abbey Library website.
