SPLIT: Pasticada, the best traditional food in town!

It’s a classic local dish featuring beef, which is drenched in a sauce of onions, nutmeg, Croatian grape wine and plums.

Melt-in-the-mouth beef is cooked very slowly. If it was not cooked slowly, then it would also lose its very nice taste.

Pasticada is also found in other Balkan countries. But the locals claim that its base is in the middle of the 15th century from Dalmatia and specifically from Dubrovnik.
