ROTTERDAM: Cube Houses, the incredible architectural innovation

Dear sports fans,

Do you like strange buildings? Do you like mysterious architecture? Do you like to explore special places? Then Rotterdam is the right place to see for yourself that the human mind can achieve great architectural “paintings” on buildings!

The Cube Houses are considered one of Rotterdam’s most important attractions.

Next to the train station you will find the neighborhood of cube houses that was an idea of the designer Piet Blom realized in 1984.

Blom attempted to represent a forest and each cube was used as a tree!

The cubic houses were divided into a triangular space on the lower level as a living room and kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms on the middle level and living room and bedrooms on the last.

It may seem crazy when you visit it up close, but as an idea it is innovative and special.

Explore the neighborhood of cubes, where each house represents a tree that in the end all look like a forest!
