ROME: Ostia, Daniele De Rossi’s Neighborhood

Rome is the city you will fall in love with from the first moment. It is the city of love, art, history, culture, good food. It is of course also the city of sports.

Many great athletes have been born in the Italian capital. The emblematic ex-captain and footballer of AS Roma, Daniele De Rossi, was born in Rome.

Specifically in the Ostia area, which is a large neighborhood of the Italian capital and one of the most important archaeological sites. Tourists choose the center of Rome to spend their holidays, but locals choose Ostia for their summer holidays.

It was the port of Ancient Rome and the ancient city was located in a strategic point near the Tiber.
It dates back to the 7th century BC. and has now developed into a seaside resort.

It has the largest archaeological park in the world. It is about 30 km from the center of Rome, but if you have time, it is worth visiting Ostia and especially Ostia Antica.

Walk along the Pontile di Ostia, visit the Amphitheatre and Market Square, see the churches of Santa Maria Regina Pacis a Ostia Lido and Santa Monica di Ostia up close, and if you have time, go to Castelfusano to see Villa Sacchetti.

The first team Daniele De Rossi played football for was AS Ostia Mare Lido Calcio and he never forgets it.
