Dear sports fans,
Those of you who find yourself in Porto to watch your favorite team against FC Porto, then we would recommend that you don’t limit yourself to just the classic foods that you can find in any country in Europe.
Porto is famous for its wonderful local delicacies. For those who want to eat something fast, then we would recommend to choose Francesinha.
It is not considered one of the prettiest looking foods, but its taste will impress you.
It’s a big sandwich with melted cheese and comes with chorizo, ham and steak (or one of the three). The cheese and deli or steak are placed on two slices of thick bread, and some choose to place a fried egg on top of the sandwich.
You will also feel in your mouth the wonderful sauce that “takes off” the feast of flavors and accompany the sandwich with potatoes.
A good choice to taste Francesinhas is the restaurant “O Afonso” (Address: Rua da Torrinha, 219, Porto).
