Dear sports fans,

Paris is not only the city you will love for its museums, its landscapes, its cuisine or the walks you will take in each of its magical neighborhoods.

Paris is the city of artists. Several important and famous personalities frequented the French capital to be inspired by the magic it offered them.

The famous Spanish painter Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973) loved his trips to Paris and was often seduced by the beauty of the city.

Whenever he went to Paris, he visited three specific cafes that opened in the late 19th century and are still in business today!

The “City of Light” is not only a global metropolis with an important history. It is also a city that loves coffee and its coffee culture is very strong!

Pablo Picasso had his reasons for visiting three specific cafes in the French capital, because they were a meeting place for people of letters, arts and political life of the place!

Café de Flore

Located at 172 Bd Saint-Germain, 75006 Paris, it opened in the 1880s! It was named Flore in honor of the Roman goddess of flowers. Since the 20th century when the building was restored and acquired its current form in Art Deco style, it has been one of the favorite haunts of the famous Spanish painter. Although it is located in a bustling neighborhood, Picasso was inspired by the building, the delicacies of the cafe and the people who surrounded him.

Café de La Rotonde

Located at 105 Bd du Montparnasse, 75006 Paris, it opened in the early 1910s! Legend has it that many painters went to drink their coffee or eat the famous croissants and because they had no money to pay, they offered paintings which over the years have gained inestimable value. Picasso, for his part, always paid and always loved to enjoy his coffee in one of the nicest spots in the French capital.
