LONDON: Memories of Arsenal’s old Highbury Stadium

Dear sports fans,

London is a city worth visiting for many reasons. It is the ideal city to be flooded with historical images of museums, to shop or to take the opportunity to visit legendary sports temples.

We would recommend that you, if you are a football fan, visit the site of the old Arsenal FC stadium, Highbury Stadium.

In 2006, Arsenal FC’s last match was held, which they won 4-2 against Wigan.

Highbury Stadium opened its gates in 1913 and closed on May 7, 2006.

The renowned architect was the one who designed the Arsenal FC stadium, as he had designed many other legendary stadiums in England.

It was located in the urban fabric and not in an isolated area of London. Around the stadium there were (and still are) residential buildings.

Where is Highbury Stadium now? The stadium no longer exists and its place has been taken by a beautiful complex of 650 apartments in Highbury Square.

According to the English media, their value is estimated at around 500 million pounds.

When you are in Highbury Square you will feel the old atmosphere of the stadium. There is still the bust of the legendary coach Herbert Chapman, the players’ tunnel, the exterior of Highbury’s East and West stands and the colors of Arsenal FC.
