LEVERKUSEN: Asian “aroma” in the “heart” of the city!

Leverkusen is a city worth exploring, although it is not considered one of the most touristy in Germany.

A special visit that we would recommend you to make is to the Japanese Garden.

Many claim that it is the outlet of Bayer employees. When they want to rest during their work and want to take a break, then they choose this particular spot for their lunch or for a coffee.

This is half the truth. The other half of the truth is that the locals prefer to take a walk in the Japanese Garden to get away from the noise of the city or for a family outing.

The Japanese Garden covers 15,000 square meters and you can find various rare plants, trees and sculptures that come from almost all countries of East Asia.

People can visit the Japanese Garden without paying a ticket. Admission has been free since the 1950s and everyone visits it mainly to admire the exotic plants that you can usually find in Japan.

Take a tour of the lakes, see the animals that adorn the garden, the architecturally beautiful bridges and the unique statues.

It is considered one of the most beautiful parks in Germany and Europe in general.

Visiting hours are from 9am to 8pm from May to September.
