GENEVA: Tour the places Voltaire walked…

Dear sports fans,

Geneva is the city of diplomacy and the most important international organizations.

But it is also a city that is rich in culture and history. For example, one of the most important French writers and philosophers lived in the Swiss city.

Voltaire (1694-1778), was born and died in France, but Geneva was one of his favorite cities.

When France did not accept him in their country, he quickly moved to the Swiss city and lived with his mistress in the house “Les Délices” from 1755 to 1760.

The Voltaire Museum (Institut et Musée Voltaire) is now crowned in this particular place, where you can find tens of thousands of books about Voltaire and the intellectuals of the 18th century.

Also, tour the grounds to see portraits of the French philosopher and a place where several theatrical performances took place with Voltaire’s blessings.

The Institut et Musée Voltaire is located at Rue des Délices 25, 1203 Genève.
