Dear sports fans,
Bucharest will offer you rich cultural images and many delicious dishes that will make you lick your fingers.
One of the most famous and traditional dishes of the Romanian capital is Mici.
They are grilled sausages with lots of spices, garlic, thyme, pepper, anise and no skin! In some cases, to make it more spicy, paprika is used.
Most often served with pickles, fries and a sauce, usually mustard.
Bucharest urban legend says that mici dates back to the Ottoman Empire and over the centuries, today’s recipe bears little resemblance to the recipe of the 14th and 15th centuries.
There were some spices at that time that are not used now. However, the important thing is that it still remains one of the most beautiful and tastiest dishes of Bucharest and Romania in general.
According to a calculation made by Romanian chefs, it is estimated that over 500 million mici are consumed in a year in the country and exported to other countries, mainly to the United Kingdom.
You will find Mici everywhere! In restaurants, pubs, bars and canteens! Each chef puts his own touch, but the end result remains the same in terms of taste.
One of the nicest restaurants that creates fancy Mici dishes is Restaurant City Grill.
