BODØ: Møsbrømlefse, the special evening dish!

Dear sports fans,

Bodø is famous for its local football team, but also for its excellent food.

We would even recommend you to try some of the local delicacies that have their historical origins in the Norwegian city and over the centuries the recipes remain unchanged.

Many locals love to eat, especially in the evening, møsbrømlefse. It is a soft thin bread (lefse) and they fill it with a sauce made from brown cheese and milk, which is called ‘møsbrøm’.

Before the bread is folded into something like a crepe in shape, butter and cream are usually put on top of the ‘møsbrøm‘.

It’s a food that most locals eat at night, but that doesn’t mean they can’t eat it at other times of the day as well.

It is considered by foodie travelers as one of the foods that is worth trying even once in your life. After all, it leans more towards the sweet than the savory dish, based on its taste.

Café City Nord is one of the cafés serving Møsbrømlefse.
