BILBAO: The unique experience at the Maritime Museum

Bilbao is a unique experience as a city from the first moment you arrive. It is a special city, with a magical atmosphere and the smells of the eclectic restaurants that will captivate you. We are sure that you will fall in love with Bilbao at first sight.

If you want to get a first taste of the history of the city, then we would recommend you to visit the “Itsamuseum”, which is the Maritime Museum in the Indauchu neighborhood and specifically in the old Euskalduna shipyards.

Bilbao’s maritime heritage has been open to the public since November 2003. The museum is one of the most important attractions worth visiting.

Its area is 27,000m2. In the outdoor areas you will see the docks of the old shipyard and the restored crane called “La Carola”. The crane is the symbol of the museum and dates back to the mid-1950s. It was the main pillar of the construction of huge ships.

It includes several permanent and temporary exhibitions with ships of historical importance.
