BERGAMO: Palazzo Moroni, a palace – jewel

Dear sports fans,

Bergamo is one of the cities that is worth visiting even once in your life. It is close to Milan and Como, but we would recommend you to discover the magical neighborhoods and beautiful sights of the Lombardy city.

One of the most important monuments of Bergamo is the Palazzo Moroni.

It dominates the historic center of the Upper Town and specifically at Via Porta 12. It dates from the 17th century and belonged to the Moroni family who bought houses in the area in the 16th century.

Now it is a cultural monument and several cultural events are organized.

Inside you will find impressive decorations. Prominent depictions of Hercules in a chariot, artifacts from previous centuries and many works of art by great artists such as Giovanni Battista Moroni, Bernardino Luini, Giovanni Giacomo Barbelli and Giuseppe Roncelli.

The gardens of the palace are also impressive. You will find vines and the symbol of the Moroni family which was the mulberry tree.
