BELFAST: Visit the George Best’s House

Dear sports fans,

Belfast is not just a city with a distinct history and rich culture. It is the city that gave birth to one of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport.

George Best was born on May 22, 1946 and at the age of 15 he decided to leave his parental home in Belfast (Address: 16 Burren Way, Belfast BT6 0DW, UK) to realize his dream at Manchester United.

Take a tour of the home of one of the greatest footballers to ever grace the pitch and see why he was passionate about football.

Check out the letters he sent from Manchester as a teenager talking about his experiences at Manchester United FC. Splash his rare photographic documents, family heirlooms, school reports and more.

You can stay at George Best’s house as a guest.

The walls are decorated with photographs from the rich career of the iconic Northern Irish footballer who died on 25 November 2005 aged 59.

It has three bedrooms and can accommodate up to five people. It is a unique experience to live, sleep and walk in the house where George Best had his first football concerns.

The house has been renovated, but there are still places that one can perceive that remain unchanged since 1949, when the house was built.

George Best had asked those close to him that when he died, he wanted to begin his final journey from this house to Roselawn Cemetery.

Hundreds of thousands of people accompanied him to his final residence and bid him farewell. His whole family home was covered in flowers, flags and scarves of his fans.
