HAMBURG: Be sure to taste “fischbrötchen”

Dear sports fans,

If you travel to Hamburg, you should definitely try a wonderful local delicacy. It’s an awesome sandwich called “fischbrötchen” and it’s one of the nicest street foods in the city! It is a fish sandwich that includes pickled herring, onion, pickles, a special sauce and it is delicious.

You’re in luck because the Poland-Netherlands match takes place on Sunday, June 16. Wake up early on a Sunday morning and visit the Fischmarkt to look for it on the stalls or in the city’s great restaurants and snack bars.

Truly, it will be one of the greatest pleasures you will feel during your stay in Hamburg.
Walk along the river Elva and you will have the chance to taste it even in local fish taverns, which serve it in an impressive way.

We recommend that you do not leave Hamburg without tasting fischbrötchen at least once. You will feel that your stay in a city famous for its good fish and the magical skills of the chefs in the way of cooking fish has been crowned with success, whether it is a sophisticated recipe or a street food such as fischbrötchen.
You can also eat fischbrötchen in different variations with shrimp, crabmeat or salmon.
