Dear sports fans,
Šiauliai is a city famous for its arts, museums, wonderful walks and of course for the love of sports.
But did you know that it has a fox that is considered the largest animal in Lithuania?
It is not real, but iron. It is 6.6 meters tall and weighs almost 7 tons.
It has been standing tall next to Lake Talkša since 2009 and is considered one of the most important attractions of the region.
The designer Vilius Puronas proceeded with this particular construction, because he wanted to commemorate the 1000th birthday of Lithuania since the first time its name was mentioned.
It is the symbol of cunning and wisdom. It is considered one of the most photographed spots not only in the city, but also in the whole of Lithuania.
It is designed in such a way that it shows that it is not afraid of anything or anyone.
The Iron Fox is 15 meters long and gives the impression that it wants to protect the city. As if he is the guardian angel of Šiauliai.
