*** PAMPLONA CATHEDRAL (C. Dormitalería, 1, 31001 Pamplona, Navarra)

It began to be built at the end of the 14th century and was completed at the beginning of the 16th century. The current Gothic building was built on the ruins of a Romanesque church that had been destroyed. See the mausoleum of Charles III the Noble and his wife Doña Leonor.

It is one of the most historic churches in the city with baroque architecture. It dates from the beginning of the 20th century and the Saint’s Chapel was built between 1696 and 1717.

It was built between 1571 and 1645 and is a copy of the Antwerp fortress. The complex is a pentagon with five bastions and displays the military architecture of the Spanish Renaissance.

It looks like a fortress and when it was built it originally had a defensive mission. The church is dedicated to the patron Saint of the city.
