SOSNOWIEC: THE INDUSTRIAL CENTER OF UPPER SILESIA

The many mines and workshops have given the city the informal title of the “industrial center”. It has been making a great effort in recent years to further develop its business. At the same time, it is a city that is full of history, greenery and culture. Also, the steel industry was a trademark of the city several decades ago. Sosnowiec had a large number of Jews and Wladyslaw Szpilman was one of its most famous citizens. This is the composer and musician depicted in the movie “The Pianist” by Roman Polanski.
