BODØ: Tørrfisk, the grilled fish you’ll love

Bodø is a city worth exploring and we would recommend you to walk even to its most hidden places.

However, it is also famous for its excellent cuisine that naturally has fish in a prominent place.

Tørrfisk as the Norwegians call it or stockfish as the tourists call it, is one of the most popular dishes in Bodø.

This is the live fish that has been exported from Norway for centuries and is made from unsalted cod or migratory Arctic cod called skrei.

We would recommend that it be one of the first dishes you should try during your visit to Bodø.

The secret is that to preserve its great taste, it is hung to dry from the wind and sun.

You can find this dish in almost all the restaurants in the city and be sure that you will be impressed by its taste. You will not find such fish anywhere else in the world.
