You are very lucky if you are in Klaksvik. It is one of the most beautiful cities of the Faroe Islands and with the best natural landscapes in Europe.

One of Klaksvik’s major attractions is Mount Klakkur.

We must inform you that it is accessible, but you should get jackets even if it is the hottest day of the year in the city.

It has an altitude of 413 meters and when you reach the top, you may need to wear something to keep from freezing.

If you find yourself at the foothills of Klakkur and have decided to hike to the top of the mountain, then you should know that it will take you around 45 minutes to 1 hour to arrive to the highest point.

On your hike you will find Astarbravt which translates as “The Path of Love”.

Walk carefully to the top because the path is steep in some places, but once you reach the top, you will be left speechless.

You will have a panoramic view of Kunoy and Kalsoy islands, you will see the famous Hálgafelli and of course Klaksvik.
