Your tour of the city should start from the white sand beach which is 25.6 kilometers long.

Enjoy the remaining huts and dwellings from the 19th century to the early 20th century. You will also see a barn, a fish smokehouse, a museum with fishing boats, etc.

The exhibition spaces of the museum will take you back in time and you will have the opportunity to see the development of the resort from the end of the 18th century to the end of the 20th century.

Viraly Yermolayev has created paintings that have internal lights and sparkle. You can enjoy a huge variety of transformative images.

Visit the house of the Latvian poet Aspazija which is one of the most beautiful museums in the city. See her personal objects, the renovated exhibition and everything that helped the spirit of the master poet to write wonderful poems.

It is one of the most photographed spots in the city, it is the largest planet in the country that has been made of copper plates.

It is a specially protected natural area with sand dunes covered by ancient pine forests. Walk the two paths of the park, cross the pine forest, see plants and birds that you do not meet anywhere else.

FOOD AND DRINK

Jurmala is a culinary paradise. It has many restaurants with American, Asian, Latin American, Russian and Mediterranean cuisine. The locals would recommend you to try roast pork piglets, beef, chicken, duck meat and putra. Also try asindesa (blood sausage), smoked fish, karbonade (schnitzel), dumplings, various kinds of soups (especially cold beet soup) and the special meat recipes (especially pork). Also, the bacon rolls, piragi and the wonderful cottage cheeses are worth tasting. For dessert we would recommend you to try black rye bread, ekler, abolu platsmaize (apple flatbread), sklandrausis and pancakes. Accompany your food with beer or wine.
